Class Experiment 1

Step 1: The pupils use Ohmmeters to see the effect of adding know resistors in series. Step 2: Start again, this time with a power supply and observe the affect of increasing the resistance on the current. Step 3: Start again, this time adding voltmeters, to see how the p.d. is split. Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 using the resistors to make a parallel circuit. Step 5: The pupils are allowed to measure the reisitance of 'black box' resistors. Knowing the components, they should be able to work out the order.

Analysis

By using simple values of resistors, the pupils should be able to make up their own mathematical rules. Work out the black box structures.
