Starter

  • Revise charging by friction

Main Body of Lesson

  • Using the Van de Graff generator. Demonstarte many of the 'toys' whilst asking the pupils to explain the effects that they see. Revise dangers by using the Van de Graff to light a bunsen. Can also show the Whimshurst machine (not to be used to shock people due to high current. Pupils should be encouraged to join in but not forced to. If there is time have pupils draw and explain their favourite example shown by the Van de Graff.
