Starter
- Explain the notion of lesson using these two power point presentations 1 & 2. The pupils write on this group worksheet as you go through the ppp, then move pupils to library.
Main Body of Lesson
- Pupils in groups of ≤4 research and produce two minute talks on:
- the celestial basis of time;
- sundials and gnomon;
- water clocks and hourglasses;
- mechanical clocks;
- quartz crystal clocks;
- Atomic clock
Plenary
- Pupils present what they have learnt to the rest of the class. The pupils should evaluate each other using this evaluation form.
Homework
- Produce poster about their area of research
