make a scale solar system (as there is no broadfield this can be done on a super small scale in class)
Main Body of Lesson
Rather than having pupils write down lots of facts you can use the Solar System Fact Sheet. It contains lots of facts, all the pupils need to do is figure what key word goes with which fact (there is a list of key words too). You can talk about the various features of the solar system and the pupils try to match the facts up.

Homework
It's poster time! The solar system provides huge scope for research. You can either give them free rein or you can assign them a particular body in the solar system. There is a list of these in the folder and a handout which you can have them pick out of a hat or assign depending on ability.
