Class Experiment

An investigation to find the resistivity of conduting putty. They can roll the putty to different diameters and then cut it to provide different ratios of l/A. They should use an ohmmeter to find the resistance.

Resources

Analysis

Plot all the data onto a graph of R v l/A. This is also an opportunity to full mathematical analysis of the data uncertainty.

Equipment

1x ohmmeter, 1x contacts, 1x conducting putty, 1x knife, 1x board, 1x rolling pin, 2x croc. clips.

Safety

Class Experiment

Using the ohmmeter, find the resistivity of a number of materials.

Resources

Analysis

Plot the values of resistivity on a logarithmic scale.
